Shadow Electronics was founded in 1971 in Erlangen, Germany by Joe Marinic who continues to own and operate the company today. The company focus solely on pickups making quality pickups.

Shadow invented the worlds first undersaddle pickup for acoustic and classical guitars, then followed by the worlds firstviolinpickup.
